More often than I can count I get that feeling of wanting to bottle a moment and all the sights, sounds and smells that go with it. I was thinking about this idea yesterday afternoon. I was sitting. I was under a tree. It was amazingly sunny:
I should probably preface this by saying that today is a perfectly unremarkable day. I woke up and went to work. It's now Friday afternoon and I'm sitting under a tree surrounded by tiny daisy-filled grass. Those cute little white cotton fluffs are blowing all around in the air. What kind of tree do they come from? Cottonwood? A dog named Gershwin just sauntered by with his human. What a good name for a dog! Every once in a while the warm grassy smell is mixed with the luscious perfume from an enormous wisteria tree that's growing nearby. Those flowers always take me right back to the time I spent in Italy just outside of Florence when the early mornings would always be filled with the smell from the wisteria trees. I can also hear the satisfying thunk of tennis balls being rallied back and forth and the occasional cheers or groans of "On no!" So I'm just sitting here on my towel with my water and lime. Now a dog named Dieters just ran past me. Another great name! It's a dog fiesta! Excellent. My burn is coming along nicely. I'm edging into lobster phase one. Oh dear - someone sounds really disappointed on the tennis court.
Well - there you have it. Nothing terribly remarkable or poetic but I wanted to share because I frequently find myself getting caught up in the day to day and don't just stop and press pause. It's terribly cliche to say to live in the moment, but lately I've been very inspired by the many people I know doing the #100happy days project and so consider this my own small contribution :)
In other news, I'm very excited because I have some very fun projects that I will get to share in the coming months. I recently spent too days at a workshop with some amazing photographers and I'm thrilled to bits to share the images from a styled bridal shoot that we did. I'm sure I'll be gushing on and on about that in posts to come, so I won't say any more for now. I also have some very interesting themed portrait shoots and some wedding second shooting coming up in a few weeks, so check back soon to hear more!
Have a lovely weekend,
