Gabrielle and Dwight // Westwood Plateau Wedding
Okay, confession time. I’m a terrible blogger.
Yep. I really shouldn’t be surprised, since although I have a deep love of journaling, I always neglect to update it until I find the notebook while cleaning my closet. Still, more than just Instagram posts or Facebook sneak peaks, my hope in posting these photo stories is to try to convey the feeling of wedding days, rather than just a quick snapshot. It also means that I get to share some of my favourite images that might otherwise not seem glamorous - a groom’s hands wringing nervously, or a mother of the Bride first taking in the site of the ceremony location and the realness of the day finally hitting her, or nail polish, snacks, and champagne surrounding a bubbly and excited group of bridesmaids getting ready. These kinds of moments are some of my favourite to capture, and they are the photos you can’t plan, or stage. They are little moments of what makes each and every wedding unique and so so fun to be a part of.
So in that spirit, I bring you the first of a bunch of catch up posts: Gabrielle and Dwight’s beautiful spring wedding at Westwood Plateau this past May. I had so much fun spending time with these two over tea (bubble and fancy loose leaf) and bonding over Gabrielle and my shared fear of spiders. Their wedding had an flowery outdoor ceremony, rolling hills and mountain views, and a reception that was kicked off with steel pan drums. Seriously. It was the bomb. I also want to give a HUGE shout out and thanks to my awesome second shooter Haley (check out her work here)!
