Get movin', movin'

Happy Monday everyone! The sun is shining again today - those of us in and about Vancouver have had a shockingly warm spring so far (seriously, there have been shorts and flip flops making appearances). This past weekend I was lucky to be able to spend a few days on Vancouver Island is the really adorable little town called Sidney with some of my family for a short mini getaway. This place is seriously adorable and had more bookstores and cute coffee shops per square kilometer than I have ever seen in my entire life. I nearly died of happiness. I found my way into one store that was chock-full of heavy wooden bookshelves, old maps, and books from the 1500s. Wow! To top is all off, it's next to the (cold) ocean. Perfection. At the base of the pier there was this tree that I eagerly snapped pictures of; it had glass bottles handing from its branches, each with little notes or different things inside.

This weekend was also a weekend that surprisingly spurred me into action. Lately I've been bogged down in the cerebral: planning, reading, listening ... a lot of solitary brain work. But, what I realized I need just as much is action! Action which doesn't come easily - running in the morning (not easily motivated), resisting my night owl-ness (I'll just play a quick round of temple run), putting all my planning into action (even more challenging).

You may notice a few things of changed around here lately. The url for this blog is now officially, hurray! Also, stay tuned for some portraits to come in the next week. Spring is here, the leaves are growing, the flowers are blooming, and the portraits are coming!
